I am an Asante man

I am an Asante Man is a glass sculpture that transforms textiles into a symbolic portrait of Asante identity. Its draped, cloth-like form and flanking elements suggest a human presence without depicting a body. Akan and Asante motifs reference kente, authority, and lineage, while the use of glass introduces fragility and permanence. The work explores masculinity, heritage, and cultural pride, presenting identity as something worn, remembered, and carried across time and place.
